Description

My sister has some friends living in Japan. They were talking about how the Japanese tried encorperating aspects of Western culture by amalgamating it with traditional Japanese icons, giving Japanese names to items, and so forth. They listed a few examples for her, and she read them to me. We both got hinged on "Easutu Usagi".

"Easutu" is Easter. Usagi means Rabbit. Easter in Japan (according to my sister's friends), is strictly a "cometh-of-spring" event, devoid of any fundemental Christian ideas. Easutu Usagi is the holiday's icon.

I think the leap from white rabbit, trans-Western-Japanese icon and main-stream pop culture is pretty clear here.

I like how scared Kakashi and Zabuza Look. Those bun-buns are questionable when they roam in packs.

This became the Easter card I handed out to friends. Doom-sparklies included.

Bunnies ARE scary! Seriously, my sister's pet rabbit kicked me in the stomach winding me (and scratching up my abdomen in the process even though I had a shirt on) then the little monster scratched up my hands! I had 5 bandaids on one hand and 6 on the other. All I was trying to do was put it back into its cage; it never attacked anyone else when they tried to put him up! Be warned, BUNNIES ARE EVIL!!!!!
